The Effect of Giving Dayak Onion Tea on Lowering Blood Pressure in Hypertensive Patients

Background: The number of at-risk population aged >18 years whose blood pressure measurements were taken was 36.53%. From the results of blood pressure measurements, as many as 12.98% were declared hypertension. Giving Dayak onion tea is a form of non-pharmacological treatment that can reduce blood pressure in patients with hypertension. Objective: To determine the effect of giving Dayak onion tea on reducing blood pressure in patients with hypertension. Research Methods: This study uses an experimental research with One-Group Pretest-Postest Design research design. Sampling using total sampling technique with 14 respondents. Normality test using Shapiro Wilk and data analysis using Wilcoxon test. Results: The results of the Shapiro-Wilk normality test showed that the results for systolic blood pressure before and after treatment obtained a significant value of p (0.001) and for the results of diastolic blood pressure before and after treatment obtained a significant value of p (0.002). Wilcoxon test results, obtained pre test and post test has a significant value of 0.000 where p < 0.050. Conclusion: There is an effect of Dayak onion tea on reducing blood pressure in patients with hypertension
